Cloudy Sky

This week has been really busy and I' m happy that tomorrow will be Friday and we are working only half day... Then the long weekend will begin and we will relax 'till Tuesday because on June, 2nd it's national holiday in Italy.
We haven't planned anything special for these next three days off because I have to study and we can't leave for a short romantic trip... but I'm sure we will have some good quality time to relax and hang out with our friends...
Considering the nice weather we had in these last few days I'm also looking forward using our balcony that now shows beautiful pink flowers... it is soooooooooo nice to drink a cold coffee on the balcony in candle light in the spring breeze during evenings!!!!

Have a nice Friday!!

Seven Random Me: Ely

1) I'm quite a childish girl... I really like everything that is pink... I like hello kitty, pins of every shape and colors, glittering things... and of course I like cartoons.... In particular I like all the Disney cartoons but also all the other kinds... like Spongebob, Ducktales, Smurfs and so on... I think I have the peter pan syndrome... I really don't want to grew up....

2) I'm scared by butterflies and everybody laugh at me when they hear so.... I don't know exactly why but I think it's because when I was a child my parents brought me to a big greenhouse full of butterflies and the little insects were flying all around me and I remember I was soooooo scared that they were trying to land on my hair and I was afraid they could be trapped inside and couldn't come out no more... it was a really scaring day for me!!!

3) I like very much travelling with my sweet Mario. I like it because I'm always curious and I like to learn about different cultures and other ways of life. At the moment some of my biggest travel dreams are: Japan, New Zeland and South Africa but I'm also really excited about our next holiday in the United States that will begin in only 68 Days.... For the other destinations we will see if we can plan something special for our honeymoon in fall 2009!

4)I like to cook and prepare special dinners for our friends.. but my favourite dish is something very easy and quick to make: it's pasta with tuna and parmesan cheese. As a good cook, I know that fish and cheese don't match and is not a good mix but it was the only thing I liked when I was a child and also now I like to eat it when I'm sad or nervous and it cheers me up! The funny thing is that Mario really really dislikes it and he can't neither smell at it...
And tuna fish in cans is the only kind of fish I like.

5) I'm very attached to all my family and I feel the necessity to call my mother at least twice a day and see my parents almost once a week... I really can't imagine how would be my life living far away from them... I hope I won't never happen in all my life.

6)I don't have a lot of friends but I feel like I have the best I could even desire. I'm really thankful for all the nice people I have around me. Friendship is like a precious treasure to me.

7)I'm a sleepy girl at night. I don't have any problems to wake up in the morning but no matter where I am or what I'm doing at eleven o'clock pm I suddently start feeling sleepy and want to go to bed. If I can't do that I become really annoyed.... hihihi... :P

We made it!

We finally decided to buy the tickets and fly back to Seattle this summer! We haven't been in the US since 2004 and we really missed it. We are staying in the US 24 days and we are also planning to visit better Southern California. Any suggestion? (^_^)

We will arrive in Seattle Aug, 1st and we really hope to have time to see everybody...all the family, friends...and blog friends as well... (^_^)
Can't wait to be there...on holiday!

Jenny and Jeff

Last week-end we finally had Jenny and Jeff here with us! They arrived from Rome on Friday, after a cruise between New York and Rome, that made them visit great places in Portugal, Spain, Morocco, France and Italy.

The first day together we brought them to visit the Sanctuary of San Romedio near Trento, in Valle di Non. Jeff was fascineted by the story behind the building of this incredible place, overlooking an alpine canyon from the heights of a cliff. The story tells that San Romedio was on his way to Trento to visit the Bishop when he was attacked by a bear. The bear killed his horse, so with the help of God, he rode the bear and reached Trento anyway. For this reason San Romedio has always been rapresented on paintings with a bear nearby. The weather was great and we really enjoyed the time together. We spent the night in Trento, eating in a typical restaurant (strangolapreti, canaderli and pizza)...and ending with a special gelato having a walk in the city centre.

The second day together, we had some scheduled engagements with friends who had their wedding. So we went to the cerimony in church in the morning, while Jenny and Jeff rested a bit at home and then went discovering the area where we live and also went shopping at the grocery store (where they found that funny ostrich food for babies....personally they sound strange to me too!!!). We had lunch together (we cooked our "famous" pasta with lemon and fresh mint!) and then we went to Toblino, where we had a walk around the lake and visited the castle. This is one of my favourite place here in Trento, and it's a possible location for our wedding party next year. We'll see!!!
For dinner we went to eat gelato again. ;)
For a coincidence, Jeff and I both have the same preferencies in gelato's flavours: stracciatella and chocolate! YUMMY

On Sunday we brought Jenny and Jeff to visit Venice. We live just a couple of hours drive from Venice, so we tought that Jenny and Jeff would have liked a visit of this incredible and unique city! And in fact we really enjoyed the day there together, also thanks to the beautiful weather and great company...

We also met some Ely's relatives that were there on holiday.

On the way back to Trento we stopped for dinner in Bassano, where we brought J+J to one of our favourite restaurants: Ottone.
Ely was teased by Jenny's choice to also order homemade pasta with duck ragù...and it was great! Jeff and I preferred some gnocchi with San Daniele ham...YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!
What a nice dinner with great food and great new friends!

It was sooooooo nice to have Jenny and Jeff here with us. Spending time together made us know each other much better and we really appreciated their company.
We just couldn't bake the cholate chips cookies, that is a special Jenny's recipe. But we will next time we'll meet...that hopefully won't be too far!

Enjoy the rest of your trip, Jeff and Jenny
...and keep in touch!!
